Operating System
(This operating system is also known as A/S 400, iSeries 400, and several other names). This is the proprietary operating system that is provided by IBM. The product implementation includes the following performance information:
TThis is the proprietary operating system that is provided by IBM.
This platform does not require a specific collecting agent, but it does require some set up.
Topics
In addition to the detailed platform centric information, the processing also includes the processing that forms the proprietary Activity and Operational information. This information is formed from the detailed platform information.
The processing also includes options that allows for the formation of several types of summary information based on the detailed performance information.
Collecting Agent
While the performance information is available from the operating system through standard API's, the retrieval and storage of the information can be complex. For this reason a collecting agent is available (free of charge) to facilate the collecting of required information.
The collecting agent is a low impact data collection process that results in a single compact file for each day. This file is then transferred to the central processing location (RG Solutions® loaded on a standard PC). The agent is provided in the form of a "C" source file. This file is then compiled and deployed by the customer in a secured manner.
